Originally founded in 2003 as Import and Export Del Sur. The company focused solely on the importation and sale of Queso Cincho and Mole Teloloapan from Guerrero Mexico. This operation was carried out in a small warehouse located near the Little Village area of Chicago.

From 2003 to 2009, Import & Export Del Sur grew steadily in the Chicago area. Creating working relationships with all the large chain stores.

In 2009, Import & Export Del Sur changed its name to El Encanto Products, Inc. With this name change came a change in business focus. El Encanto kept its roots importing and selling cheese, but has now ventured into grocery distribution.

By 2012, El Encanto had established itself outside of the Chicago area and in surrounding states. El Encanto currently has distribution routes to 11 states in the Midwest region. The operation that was once run in a small warehouse is now leading a massive expansion while remaining within the Little Village community of Chicago. 

El Encanto has direct distribution coverage in 11 states within the Midwest region. In addition to this, El Encanto brands can be found in Colorado, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and in Canada through sub-distributors.

In 2020, El Encanto experienced its largest increase in business due to the global pandemic. With all necessary precautions, the company worked tirelessly to ensure that none of its customers ran out of merchandise. Along the way, earning your customers' loyalty through hard work.
